Prophet James and Saundra
Newton founded Jesus Is Alive Ministries, Inc. in May 2000 (Hebrews
4:12 Amplified). God has confirmed that Jesus Is Alive Ministries is
established to magnify His word and to help others understand how to
listen and obey the voice/word of God. The focus of the ministry is
to teach and develop members of the body of Christ to take their
rightful place in the body (Ephesians 4:12-13).
Prophet Newton, a licensed and ordained
minister, currently serves as Associate Pastor of Community
Fellowship International (CFI) where he and Saundra are
members. James is also
the local Advisor of Women's Aglow in Durham, North Carolina, the
Area Advisor of Women's Aglow in the Central North Carolina Region,
and is also Vice President of Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship
International, Durham-Chapel Hill Chapter.
James
grew up
in Red Springs, NC where he attended Rhyne Memorial
Methodist Church
and taught Sunday school classes. James graduated from Peterson
High School as
Salutatorian of his class. James then served four years in the United
States Air
Force and was honorably discharged. He graduated cum laude from
North Carolina Central University with a
Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.
James taught in Franklinton and
Durham Public School systems. Prior to joining
CFI, James was an active member at St. Joseph's A.M.E. Church
and fulfilled many different roles including District Superintendent
of Sunday School, instructor for Sunday school classes and bible
studies, and treasurer of
Steward Board. He also served as Dean
of the Violent Faith Ministry Prophetic School at Monroe Christian
Church in Durham, NC.
Saundra Marie (Redding) Newton was born in
Aurora, IL. She gave
her life to the Lord at an early age, and has been steadily
increasing in the knowledge of His Word.
She graduated from the
occupational therapy program at Indiana University-Purdue University
at Indianapolis and received a Master of Education in Rehabilitation
Counseling from Kent State University.
Saundra worked at
Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron
(Ohio), and joined the New
Hope Baptist Church family. In addition to participating in church
wide activities, she served as a mission department officer and
co-leader of the Youth Department.
Saundra moved to
Durham, NC in l996 and is currently employed as a pediatric
occupational therapist at Developmental Therapy Associates,
Inc.
Prophecy has been received that James and
Saundra will minister to individuals, couples, and nations.
Equipping and teaching others to listen and obey the voice/word of
God is their greatest joy.
