THE BIBLE
CORNER
GIVING AND
RECEIVING
(Note:

During bible study the other night
Saundra read aloud verses from Proverbs the third chapter and my
attention was drawn to verses 9 and 10: 9 "Honor
the Lord with
thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled
with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new
wine."
(KJV) As I
was memorizing these verses I began to get excited. I thought about them as I
went to bed. I was
awaken for prayer about four thirty the next morning. As I began to pray in the
spirit these scriptures began to come back to my mind. I got my bible and began to
read as I was praying. "
Honor the Lord with thy
substance,"
Honor: giving
praises and glory to God.
Substance is faith.
Faith is what you hear from God; what you say that God has
said; and what you do based on what God has said about you; being
that you are the product of your speaking. So I began to give God honor
by speaking what God had said in His word: " Give and it shall be given
to me, God will not do without a cheerful giver, cast your bread on
the waters, He has stopped the devourer for my sake, He has opened
the window of heaven and poured me out a blessing that I do not have
room enough to receive, my old money never runs out before my new
money comes in, nations shall call me blessed and I am a delightsome
land." Saying
what God has written began to come alive in my heart; I was honoring
God with my substance. "
And with the firstfruits of all thine
increase:" the firstfruits are your first new
monies, raises, promotions and increase in your revelations received
from God. As I prepared
to give tithes and offerings I meditated on these words that I was
speaking and excitement began to build. I knew that something was
happening in me. The
thought came as I was writing a check that I was pleasing God. This is my reason for
being. God was pleased
with me. Understanding this makes giving easy. Giving became a joy.
"So shall thine barns be filled with plenty," God said to me
the barn is the place where you store your goods until you need
them. Like putting your
money into the bank and taking it out when you need it. So I used the word barn to
mean banking; a place where you store to be used as needed. "and thy presses shall
burst out with new wine." God said to me, the
presses are the places where you invest your money for increases:
IRA, saving, bonds, etc. When this is done by faith, the Spirit of
God (new wine) gets involved and causes the increase.
After receiving this revelation, I
began to seek God for the time to release this message to the
body. In church Sunday,
after Morning Prayer, the apostle began to tell us that God is
preparing his people for what is going to happen to the banking
system. In the year
2003 the banking systems will began to fail. I knew that this was the
time to bring forth the above message. The body of Christ will
always be able to stand because we always keep God's word and do
those things that are pleasing in His sight. I pray that you will receive
revelation and act on this word.
