HOW TO APPLY THE WORD OF FAITH

(Note: To read at a glance follow the bold print)

Why doesn’t the word of God work for me? I speak to my body but nothing seems to happen. This is a question and statement that I hear often. To understand the process of faith one must be aware that faith comes. God truly has a way of not letting anything get to us that we don’t have word enough to cure. God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are capable, strong, and powerful enough to bear.

Secondly, we must trust (rely on, have confidence, and faith) in the Lord with all our heart. Trusting with the whole heart leaves no room for doubting, questioning or wavering whether God is moving on your behalf. God has already moved. He has given us his word. Because Jesus (the word) is the author and finisher of our faith, we use the word of faith to establish our victory. For this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Victory belongs to those who, by reasons of using the word, have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. The senses are being exercised daily as you continue to meditate, study and speak the word.

Thirdly, knowing applying faith is a spiritual operation helps in speaking with more confidence. My spirit is in God’s Spirit, searching the things of God and bringing the answer to my natural mind. This process enables the senses to yield to the power of the spoken word. My mind is being transformed by the word of God that is spoken by me daily. The Holy Ghost causes a manifestation that enriches spoken words, enabling the senses to yield to the power of these words. This continuous process causes my body to begin to react to the words spoken, manifesting healing. Words coming out of a born again believer changes any situation or circumstance. Continue to speak the Word growing strong in faith giving praise and glory to God. Do not let the situation determine what you say. Saying what God has spoken is your answer. The word of God is your source.

Fourthly, thanksgiving, worship, praise, prayer, faith, giving, sowing, receiving, lifting Holy hands, and tithing are spiritual principlesthat you apply because you believe they work. Jonah confessed and praised his way out of the belly of the fish because he knew that God would answer him (Jonah 2:1-10). Psalm 67:5-7 states that when all the people praise God then the earth shall yield her increase. II Chronicles’s 20:15-27 shows that the word from the man of God along with praises caused God to move on Jehoshaphat’s behalf. In I Samuel 17:40-51, David spoke and acted on the words he had spoken and accomplished a victory. Daniel prayed and received the interpretation of the King’s dream and the interpretation saved his life in Daniel 2:16-19. By faith Abel offered God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain and obtained witness that he was righteous (Hebrews 11:4). Isaac received a word from God, sowed in famine, received a hundredfold, and the Lord blessed him (Genesis 26:12). Give and it shall be given unto you (Luke 6:38). In I Timothy 2:8 Paul states “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” (Other scriptures: Hebrews 13:15, Ephesians 5:20, I Thessalonians 5:18, Psalm 149:6-9, Romans 10:6-10, Ephesians 6:18, Jude 20-21, Philippians 4:4-9 and Romans 10:17)

In conclusion, the body responds according to what you believe when you speak. Listen to yourself talk and discover what you are saying when your body continues to act contrary to the spoken word of God. As you apply the principles stated above, you will be renewed in the spirit of your mind, thereby, transforming your mind so you can prove what is the good, accepted and perfect will of God. Your body will respond to the spoken word of God. [Job 22:21-22 Amp. “Acquaint now yourself with Him (agree with God and show yourself to be conformed to His will) and be at peace; by that (you shall prosper and great) good shall come to you. Receive, I pray you, the law and instruction from His mouth and lay up His words in your heart.”] The bible, God’s word, will guide you in your daily living and keep your body in subjection to the word when spoken in faith. Guard your mouth and be alert to the words that you speak for life and death are in the power of the tongue.
