What’s In Your
Mouth?
I was talking to a young person the other day and he was upset
with God because his needs were not being met. He was blaming God for his shortcomings. One
of the first things we should learn about God is that He is a father and He
wants the best for His children. Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith
the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Num
23:19 He is faithful and will not lie. 1 Thes 5:24 If He promised
He will also do it. Phil 1:6 Being confident of
this very thing, he which hath begun a good work in you will perform
it until the day of Jesus Christ: Col 1:10 That
ye might walk worthy of the Lord (unto all pleasing), being fruitful in every good
work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Heb 13:20 Now
the God of peace… 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do
his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through
Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Phil 2:13 Not
in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work
in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will
and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight. Phil 4:13 I
have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything
and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am
self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].
One of the number one reasons for our needs not being met
is that we do not trust God to do what He said He would do or we do not know
what He said He would do. The best cure for this is the word of God. God
has sent His word and healed and delivered us from all destructions. (Ps
107:20 He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the
pit and destruction.) Notice that the verse states that God has sent His word
not is going to send. Since God is a faith God he calls those things that
be not as though they were. (Rom 4:17 As it is written, Who …speaks
of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already]
existed). God through His word has instructed us to use the word that is in
you, His word, to change your situation. (Rom 10:8, 9 The Word (God's
message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the
Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach, Because
if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your
heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised
Him from the dead, you will be saved.) Being saved means that you have spoken
and acted on the word of God to the place that you that you believe it in your
heart and say it with your mouth. As this process is continued, faith is deposited
in your spirit so that it can grow and accomplish what you spoke.
God has promised that the word spoken will not return void
when it is consistently planted in your spirit (Isa 55:11 So shall My
word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without
producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please
and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it; and Mark
4:26-29 And He said, The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters
seed upon the ground, And then continues sleeping and rising night and day
while the seed sprouts and grows and increases--he knows not how. The earth
produces [acting] by itself--first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain
in the ear. But when the grain is ripe and permits, immediately
he sends forth [the reapers] and puts in the sickle, because the harvest stands
ready). When you speak the word of God you are planting it into your spirit. Your
spirit after being baptized in the Holy Spirit searches the things of God to
bring to birth what you have believed. (1 Cor 2:10 Yet to us God has
unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit
searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the
profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden
and beyond man's scrutiny]. 12 Now we have not received the spirit [that
belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us]
that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor
and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God).
Once we know the things that God has given us we can trust
and believe that they are ours. (Prov 22:17-19 Listen (consent and submit)
to the words of the wise, and apply your mind to my knowledge; For it will
be pleasant if you keep them in your mind [believing them]; your lips will
be accustomed to [confessing] them. So that your trust (belief, reliance,
support, and confidence) may be in the Lord, I have made known these things
to you today, even to you). When your trust and confidence is in God (what
He has written and spoken) you will be able to guard your heart while you wait
expectantly for the harvest (the things that you have spoken). (Phil 4:7-9 And
God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation
through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its
earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall
garrison and mount guard over your *hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. For
the rest…think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix
your minds on them]. Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen
in me (the word), and model your way of living on
it, and the God of peace
(of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you).
Understanding that the Father wants us to be blessed (empowered
to prosper). He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing under the heavenly
realm and that pertains to life and godliness, living and operating like God
(Eph 1:3…Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given
by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm! 2 Pet 1:3-4 For
His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited]
to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called
us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). By means of
these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so
that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness
and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed),
and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.) So let us mount
up with wings as eagles and trust God to do what He said He would do because
we have sowed the word into our hearts and fitted it into our mouths showing
that we trust Him. We have the ability to use more words that we have money
to buy our changes. Continue to fill your mouth with what God said. Make
it your way of life.
