Revealed experiences
What's in it for
me?
While studying the God's word I have never
considered the question:
What's in it for me?
I am already saved.
Whatever God wants to do with my life is fine with me. I am his man; I will do
whatever comes. This
was not what God expected.
My decisions and actions had to cooperate with God's Word in
order for his word to work in my life. All my thoughts were always
toward who will this benefit.
I also knew that prophecy was always cutting both ways just
as the word of God does.
In other words, when I give a word to someone it has the
potential of being fitted for me also. I have been going
through some things with my daughter and her life situations and
came across some scriptures that I knew God was giving me to give to
her. What was so real
for me is the scripture answered my questions. She had been praying about
her situation and God told her that he would never leave her nor
forsake her. Even with
this word of encouragement she was still going through. I had already prayed and
believed that God would change the situation but it wasn't happening
like I thought it should.
She still had the problem in the natural. Nothing had changed. The other part of the
scripture is that she could boldly say that the Lord was her helper
and she was not to fear what man can do to her. I told her that man was the
world system and what it could bring through Satan's influence. She was not to fear what
mankind could do to her with Satan's help. These words were comforting,
but they did not seem to change the situation. Along with these verses of
scriptures God told me to tell her to come boldly to the throne of
grace and receive help that was needed in time of trouble. I explained that boldly
means come like you are expecting God to give you what you
need. God had spoken to
me that I should come as God to God.
Well the answer to "what's in it for me?" hit me
right between the eyes.
I had been coming to God like I wasn't sure he was hearing
me. Then I realized
that these scriptures were just as much for me as for her. God has always been faithful
to me and it looked like I was losing the confidence that I had in
him. He began to
rehearse with me through the Holy Spirit bringing past experiences
to my mind of how He has cared and has taken care of me. God had not forsaken
me. He is always
faithful to me.
Meditation on these Words caused faith to dominate my
mind. There is always
something in it for me.
God has been all the while at work in me causing me both to
will and do of His good pleasures. His good pleasures
over the years have developed into being my good pleasure. When I come to God with
confidence He always hears me and answers my requests, even when I
don't think that it is working. Faith resides in my
spirit because I am one with God. Knowing this helps to
develop a "knowing" that encourages my walk with God and builds
confidence in the unseen.
The Lord my God in the midst of me is mighty. He rejoices over me with joy
and singing. I know the
answer to the question "what's in it for me?" The plans He has for
me are for good and not evil and to give me an expected and rewarded
end. Because I love,
serve and obey him, I will always spend my days in prosperity and my
years in pleasantness.
Thanks be unto God who always causes me to triumph in Christ
Jesus. Life more
abundantly is what's in it for me!
