The word of their testimony
While reading and listening to some testimonies,
I was amazed at the way the word of God ministered to my mind. The first testimony was in a
book by a missionary in Africa. As I read the book I was
impressed with the message of how God intervened in this person’s
life when others were being shot and killed. The key message to me is how
important it is to receive a word from God. After many hours in
prayer, God would always speak to the missionary’s heart and he
would be encouraged.
The missionary had made up his mind that he loved God, not
his life unto death.
When his persecutors would say it was time for him to die,
the missionary would always say “May I speak?” and he would talk
about how much he loved God, how he use to be just like them, and
how God had changed his life.
Regardless of the situation or how bad the circumstances
were, God always came through in a miraculous way. His testimony was always
blended with scriptures.
The word of God says that God watches over His word to
perform it. He will
always give you what to say during that time and hour. The missionary opened his
mouth and God filled it.
In each case he had to trust God for deliverance and God
always delivered. Every
time God delivered better than he expected even to the point of
winning most of the people to the Lord.
As I read this book I was reminded of how God has
been involved in my life.
Every situation or circumstance He brought me through with a
message of Love.
God gave me Jesus and then He gave me an opportunity to
receive Him as my Lord and Savior. After hearing about Jesus,
and saying a few words, my life was changed forever. God said He did this to
clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable riches
of his free grace in His kindness and goodness of heart toward
me in Christ Jesus.
How? During times of prayer, receiving a word; during
speaking engagements, receiving a word; when preaching, receiving a
word; when writing this paper, receiving a word; when planning my
school day, receiving a word; when planning to go on vacation,
receiving a word; when listening to my wife, receiving a word; when
writing a check, receiving a word; when talking on the phone,
receiving a word; during my bible study, receiving a word; walking
down the hall, receiving a word; shopping, receiving a word;
visiting with friends, receiving a word. The word is always
there. God is
always speaking. My
mind is always being transformed by His words. I am an antenna waiting to
react to His next thought.
The other testimonies were about people dying and
going to heaven. The
things that they spoke and saw while on their journeys were found to
be scripture.
The number one message is God loves my prayers so
much that He turns them into a sweet aroma in heaven. Just remembering the
scriptures about the prayers of the saints has caused me to speak
the word more. Prayer
(along with speaking the word) has become my number one weapon to
change and transform my life.
My mind is renewed daily with a greater expectancy to see the
results of my prayers manifested. May you be encouraged to
know that God hears the prayers of the believer and does
something about them.
